About

My career has never followed a straight path, which, honestly, has become my biggest strength. Starting in administration, I found my way working in events before the world shut down. At that time, I had just had my first baby, and there was little event work in sight. It was the perfect chance to pivot again and discover the world of No-Code and all it has to offer. These days, I split my time between building thoughtfully designed apps and registration systems while rolling up my sleeves to tackle operational work I genuinely enjoy. With No-Code, I have found joy in turning messy spreadsheets into practically considered apps with integrated UX/UI design. Through this skill, I’ve also been able to bridge my career experiences by working as an event technician and utilizing No-Code registration systems to work closely with recurring clients. Additionally, I provide support by managing timelines, logistics, communications and customer help when needed. I enjoy the challenge of supporting others with the tools I’m knowledgeable about and providing them with ease. One of my favourite and quick organizational tools I’ve created is a quick links doc with everything my client ever needs to find in a pinch. Simple effort, big impact.Over the years, I’ve had the privilege to work with companies such as The Walt Disney Company, Australian Grand Prix, Melbourne Convention Centre, Benefit Cosmetics Canada, OCAD, Blue Ant Media, Veeam and Informa. I’ve also had the privilege of working with a variety of new founders at exciting start-ups in fashion, event management and tech. Through these opportunities, I’ve had an eclectic range of roles, including Project Manager, Front Desk Operations, Event Supervisor, Developer, Teacher, Speaker, Workshop Facilitator, and Work Mom.Speaking of Mom, I’m also proud of the family I’ve built with two little ones by my side. With the ability to work remotely, we’ve been able to travel for extended stays in new countries and experience different cultures together. Our favourite adventure has been through East Asia, where it became not uncommon for me to take client calls in the middle of the night to make it work. With the flexibility of remote work and travel, I have enjoyed the times when I get to meet with global clients firsthand as well.Throughout my life, I’ve found adaptability to be an important life skill in making it work. In childhood, I was diagnosed with Arthritic pains that have forced me to navigate some days differently. In my youth, I yearned to explore and did so by pursuing work visas in alternative countries for opportunities outside of Canada. Now, in my adulthood, I am freelancing while raising two little ones to be knowledgeable in the world around them. Our youngest was born with Down Syndrome, so adapting to new expectations and learning as we grow together has been pushing us to think and live differently. It has been another pivot in life that I am grateful for.Even with all these paragraphs, there is plenty more to share. Please reach out and stay connected through socials, substack or a general message here. You’ve made it this far; you might as well say hello.

West Coast Vacation

A travel itinerary app
built the day before our first flight

Before our trip was all locked in, we had 20+ different variations for a 7 day vacation. To stay organized and focused, I built an app that stopped us from rummaging through emails and resorting to messy spreadsheets.Features include:
- See recaps of each travel day
- Input and edit itineraries on the go
- Capture estimated expenses
- Share updates with readers of the app (ex. family)

A Portfolio in App Form

What better way to display the inner workings of a No Code App than to build one about yourself?I wanted to make something fun that can show off the quickness and ease No Code can bring to a project. Did I already mention this was primarily built in a day?Includes an interactive element to see how your inputs can update what is displayed in the graphs shown.

Collaboration: Crochet Benebabies & Cozies

Benefit Cosmetices Crochet Collab

I had the pleasure of meeting the Benefit Canada team at a conference event. After a quick introduction, we were chatting about designing a crochet experiment in the form of cute and colourful matching cozies for their Benetints.
I jumped at the opportunity and started the hunt for the perfect yarn colours to match.
The original plan was for just a batch of simple matching colour cozies. With ideas quickly churning away in my head, I couldn’t stop at that and proceeded to design more.We called them the Benebabies and I paired them with their own makeup bag striped in Benefit pinks. Meet Lola, Charlie, Betty & Polly, everyone!
